As you cast this spell you manifest a bow and arrow made of electricity, firing it immediately. The lightning arrow requires a ranged touch attack to hit, and deals 1d4 electricity damage per caster level (maximum of 5d4) in electricity damage. If the arrow fails to pierce a creature's Spell Resistance it takes half damage instead of completely negating it.

A lightning arrow deals half damage to a target that uses the [[SRD:Deflect Arrows|Deflect Arrows]] feat or similar ability to deflect it away.
