The lancet is effectively a two-handed rapier, with an enlarged hilt which makes it seem like someone strapped a rapier blade to the shaft of a shortspear.  The entire construction is very thin, like a needle, with the hilt midway through the shaft and another capping off the held end.  Because of its thinness it retains low weight and finesse.

You can use the [[SRD:Weapon Finesse|Weapon Finesse]] feat to apply your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier to attack rolls with a rapier sized for you, even though it isn’t a light weapon for you.

Feats and abilities which effect rapiers also effect lancets.
