You shoot condensed ink towards a target as a ranged touch attack. If it hits in deals 1d4 + 1d4 per caster level (up to 5d4) of non-lethal damage  and the target must make a Reflex save to avoid being [[SRD:Blinded|blinded]]. The ink covers the subject's eyes and remains there until it uses a move action to wipe it away.

You may upcast this spell in a 3rd level slot to add your casting modifier to the damage and to increase the blindness' duration up to one round per casting modifier, after which the target must wipe the ink away as a move action.

If you cast this spell underwater it works differently, not dealing any damage but covering a 10-ft (3 meters) cube adjacent to you with a cloud of ink. The cloud outlines invisible creatures and provides total [[SRD:Concealment|concealment]]. All vision within the cloud is obscured. The ink dissipates in running or flowing water in 1 round or after a minute in calm water. Creatures inside the ink spray must make the Reflex save to avoid being blinded for one round.
