The Hammer of Stopped Time is a ''+1 [[SRD:Warhammer|warhammer]]'' composed of an unknown brass-like metal which seems to be impervious to age or rust, as if it had the [[Aeon Nix (3.5e Equipment)|Aeon Nix]] enhancement for free.  Most creatures cannot even wield it, for one must succeed on a DC 20 [[Will]] save to even pick up the weapon as it is under a form of ''[[SRD:Sanctuary|sanctuary]]'' that prevents it being touched.  On a failed save the weapon is untouchable until you next level, or 1 week has passed (whichever is shorter).  However if you are a cleric or paladin with a lawful alignment, you need not make the save.

Those who can wield the weapon gain the ability to smite as a [[paladin]] of their level 1/day, or increase the amount of smiting they have by +1.  Smiting with this weapon works on all non-lawful creatures.  In addition to a normal smite attack, you can transform your smite into a Time Smite.  Instead of smite damage the creature must make a [[Will]] save DC 10 + 1/2 HD + your highest ability modifier or be frozen in time as per ''[[SRD:Temporal Stasis|temporal stasis]]'' for 1d4+1 rounds.  On a successful save they are frozen for 1 round.  Once they are freed with either result they are immune to further Time Smites for 5 rounds.

You can also consume a smite attempt to give yourself the benefit of ''[[Clockstopper (3.5e Spell)|clockstopper]]'' with a caster level equal to your character level, or to grant yourself a reroll on a save against a time effect such as ''[[SRD:Slow|slow]]'' or ''[[SRD:Temporal Stasis|temporal statis]]'' as a free action, even if you would be otherwise unable to act.  You can only reroll a save against a single effect once per effect.
