This spell functions like ''[[SRD:Vampiric Touch|vampiric touch]]'', except it deals 1d8 points of damage/level to their maximum hit points instead of their normal hit points (maximum 20d8).  This hit point burn can only be cured by magic which cures ability drain, healing 5 hp for every 1 point of ability drain that would normally be cured.  

If the spell kills the target, their body crumbles into useless dust and you add their HD to the temporary hp gained.  The temporary hit points disappear 1 hour/level later.  Temporary hit points overlap, they do not stack.
