''Force Lance'' is a ''Tier I [[Magic Implement (3.5e Equipment) | +2 Implement]] [[Spell Power Enhancements (3.5e Equipment) | Impulse]] [[Rune Arm (3.5e Equipment) | Rune Arm]]''. It is a [[SRD:Gauntlet | gauntlet]], taking up the hands slot. It requires the [[Rune Arm Legacy (3.5e Feat) | Rune Arm Legacy]] feat to use. It can be set to charge as a move action, gaining a charge immediately; Charging is maintained by a Swift action each round. It can hold up to two charges. Once it has at least 1 charge, it can be fired, expending all charges and dealing 1d4 Force damage per charge as a ranged touch attack; It has a +1 Enhancement bonus to attack and damage rolls. 

Once used, if it is charged again within 1d4 rounds, it can backfire - Each round it is charged, the wielder must make a Will save (DC 11 + the number of times during that encounter the character has had to make this save) or it backfires, dealing its current damage (1d4+1 if one charge, 2d4+1 if two charges) to all creatures in a 5-foot radius of the wielder, including the wielder, and everyone in that radius (except the wielder) gets a Reflex save (DC equal to the Save DC for the Will save) for half damage.

It can also be used by a spellcaster to empower his 1st-level spells. He can either add the blast damage to the damage the spell deals, or to reduce the metamagic cost of a metamagic feat applied to any 1st-level spell by 1 spell level (If the level adjustment is reduced to +0, the casting time isn't increased by the metamagic if applied spontaneously).
