<ref name="gossum">{{pub|GoS}} p.87-88 (summarized)</ref> Aubreck Drallion is a merchant prince that owned a trade fleet. Hoping to monopolize the spice trade, he invested heavily and stored the deeds and letters of debt on his flagship, ''{{5ep|Emperor of the Waves}}''. Hoever, the ship was lost in a storm, greatly reducing Aubreck's wealth.

The ''Emperor'' was nearly sunk by the storm, but was able to land on an uncharted island. The crew were killed by a {{SRD5|Druid}} in service to {{5ep|Lolth}}, and her followers. Later the ship was relaunched only to be found adrift, a ghost ship.

Aubreck learned of the ship's location and plans to send a ship of adventurers to recover his documents (and thus his wealth).
