== Ancient Ceramic ==

[[Summary::This state-of-the-art ceramic is as harder than steel and a fraction the weight.]] It is believed to have been the building material from an ancient civilization, especially the hull of their ‘flying ships’. In most campaigns ancient ceramic can only be found on discarded technology, but it may be produced by a futuristic faction. ancient ceramic is rather plain in appearance, resembling a non-reflective metal of dull white color. It can be painted over and adorned with all kinds of designs. 

All equipment made from ancient ceramic weighs half as much as a steel item of the same kind. Since ancient ceramic isn't metal it isn't magnetic, neither affected by rust or by other effects which could affect a metal item. However because of the highly industrialized process required to make it, druids and similar classes consider it to be made of metal for the purpose of any equipment restriction they may have.

Beside being light and hard, weapons made of ancient ceramic retain a highly durable and sharp edge. When an ancient ceramic weapon is used to deal piercing or slashing damage, it deals 1 additional damage on a hit. Armor made from ancient ceramic gain the same benefits as [[SRD:Mithral|mithral]].

Weapons or armors fashioned from ancient ceramic are always [[SRD:Masterwork|masterwork]] items as well; the [[SRD:Masterwork|masterwork]] cost is included in the prices given below.

Ancient ceramic has 25 [[SRD:Hit Points|hit points]] per inch of thickness and [[SRD:Hardness|hardness]] 16. Ancient ceramic is highly corrosion and heat-resistant as well as non-conductive, doubling its hardness against all source of energy damage.
