This spell conjures cursed thorns which erupt from the ground to entrap the target of the spell. The target takes 1d6 damage per level (maximum of 15d6) in magic piercing and slashing damage and is [[SRD:Entangled|entangled]] and held in place for the duration of the spell. A successful save negates the entanglement and prevents the spellcaster from concentrating on the spell, but does not reduce the damage dealt. A creature who takes damage from this spell takes 2d6 [https://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/conditions#TOC-Bleed bleed] damage. A huge or larger creature is not entangled by this spell, but is damaged normally by it

The thorns cannot be escaped as long as the spell is ongoing, except through the use of teleportation. If the target is entangled, the caster may concentrate on this spell to extend its duration. Whenever the caster concentrates, she may deal 1d6 damage to a creature entangled by this spell, or target a new creature.

A witch with the thorn patron may replace blade barrier with this spell as the patron spell she gains at 12th level.
