5.56x45 is a common caliber, seen in firearms worldwide, in the hands of many countries. This particular model happens to be a machine gun, capable of constantly firing as long as the trigger is held.

This model is fed by an ammo box, good for 100 attacks before having to be reloaded. This takes a swift action, or a free action with rapid reload, but non-proficient users take two rounds to do it, or one round with rapid reload. You may fire the weapon in one of three ways:

Semi-auto: You attack as normal. You deal additional damage equal to your Dex modifier, and have a Crit modifier of 18-20/&times;2. This does not stack with any other effect that adds your Dex modifier to damage. This is considered an "attack", and can be used with any ability that relies on making an "attack" (such as [[Siege Shot (3.5e Feat)|Siege Shot]] or [[Ranged Threat (3.5e Feat)|Ranged Threat]]).

Directed Burst (auto): You gain the benefits of [[SRD:Rapid Shot|Rapid Shot]], regardless of whether you meet the prerequisites. If you actually have Rapid Shot, and have a BAB of +6 or better, you gain the benefits of [[SRD:Manyshot|Manyshot]] and [[SRD:Greater Manyshot|Greater Manyshot]].

Suppressing fire (auto): As a full-round action, you may attack one creature or object in a number of contiguous 5-foot squares equal to your BAB at a &minus;8 penalty to hit. In addition, when a creature attempts to enter one of the squares targeted, they must immediately make a reflex save (DC 10+1/2 HD+DEX) or immediately lose a move action and end their current action. Creatures who do not have a move action remaining this round end their current action and fall [[SRD:Prone|prone]]. This effect lasts until the start of your next turn, uses 2 ammo per square suppressed, and does not affect creatures immune to morale penalties.
