This small piece of brass, steel and lacquered wood, is shaped in a J-like fashion, with a lock and hammer near the curve of the butt, and a spigot on the side of said lock. Operation is foreign to those without proficiency, and firing the weapon requires a DC 15 Use Magic Device check, and incurs the regular -4 penalty of using a weapon without proficiency. This is '''Iris' Fizzle-fire Popper!''' A smaller version, which starts off using lead Sling Bullets. The sound of the device is a quiet 'pop', the pressure behind the bullet as it travels through the barrel releasing with a comical popping sound.

The proficiency for the Popper is considered Exotic Proficiency (Iris' Tier 1) and thus shares proficiency with other Tier 1 weapons.

It is a flintlock or wheel-lock type pistol, but instead of operating from gunpowder, it uses flasks filled with Oil of Launch Bolt (or Launch Item). For every one shot you make with the pistol, it uses 1/5th of the flask, effectively giving you five shots without having to change the flask. The flasks cost 25gp each as per the cantrip oil prices. You can use a swift action each round to slide a bullet into the barrel manually. To replace an empty flask with a new one, it takes a standard action to lock it into the spigot.

The pistol can accept a few separate modifications, mostly done by tinkerers or weaponsmiths with their own flair.

This modification is quite similar to the modification on '''Iris' amazing invention, the Fizzle-fire Jezail,''' where sling bullets are fed up through the stock, or in this case, grip, and automatically loaded into the barrel using residual magic to pull them into a loading gate build into the internals.

This allows you to fire five bullets before having to reload, using a move action to enter five sling bullets into the gate. You still need to use a standard action to load a new flask of oil into the Popper.

The modification requires a DC 25 Craft (Technology/Tinker or Weaponsmith) check, 100gp of materials, and approximately eight hours of work. This work can be done intermittently, but once begun, the Popper is not serviceable until the work is done.

The grip of the Popper is filled with lead, and then plated with iron or brass to make it look nice. This adds significant weight to the pistol, as well as some durability to the grip, so that it may be used as a melee weapon. As a free action, you can grab the Popper by the barrel, and use it as [[SRD:Club]]. All enhancements to the the weapon effect the Club statistics as well.

The modification requires a DC 15 Craft (Technology/Tinker or Weaponsmith) check, 20gp of materials, and approximately two hours of work. This work can be done intermittently, and the Popper is serviceable during the modification proccess.
