A cousin of the [[Swordcane (3.5e Equipment)|swordcane]], the spearcane has much shorter hidden and it main mechanic rely on a collapsible shaft. When the proper trigger mechanism is activate the hidden blade spring up and the shaft greatly lengthen. The triggering mechanism may be activated as a free action, but require the same type of action required to sheathe to be collapsed into a cane again. A spearcane has reach when used in it spear form, however it cannot be used to threaten adjacent creatures.

The spearcane gets a +20 circumstance bonus to disguise checks to appear as a non-weaponized normal cane.  If undiscovered, when the spearcane is drawn creatures are flatfooted against its attacks for 1 round.  In it cane form the spearcane can be used as a weapon, dealing the secondary listed bludgeoning damage and do not possess reach. 

You can use the [[SRD:Weapon Finesse|Weapon Finesse]] [[SRD:Feats|feat]] to apply your [[SRD:Dexterity|Dexterity]] modifier instead of your [[SRD:Strength|Strength]] modifier to [[SRD:Attack Roll|attack rolls]] with a spearcane and sheathe sized for you, even though it isn’t a [[SRD:Light Weapon|light weapon]] for you. 

Both the [[Swordcane (3.5e Equipment)|swordcane]] and the spearcane share the same proficiency.
