[[Summary::God of cockatrice, basilisks, and other creatures that petrify, and god of territories and the desire to hold them,]]  Often seen as a god of monsters, his reign is more focused.  Because of the similarities to the aforementioned basilisks and cockatrice, Colocolo is the "adopted" god of the [[Balareion (3.5e Race)|balareion]] and [[Gorgoneion (3.5e Race)|gorgoneion]] species.

Colocolo appears as a serpent with four tiny legs, much like a chinese dragon, and a rooster's head with a brilliant red dragon crest.  Its eyes are large and carry inside of them a prismatic flame which can bless, curse, turn others to stone, or kill with a glance.  It is said that if one was to lock eyes with Colocolo, that one's soul would be stolen away without effort.  In spite of its rather malignant effect on the world, Colocolo is not evil and instead takes a very animalistic approach, concerns only about territory and keeping it safe for its brood.  

=== Dogma ===

To establish a home, and to protect that home from intrusion is the creed of Colocolo.  All things are permitted when it comes to defending oneself.  Beyond that, one should not make trouble with the world, so that trouble does not trouble you back at a later date.
 
=== Clergy and Temples ===

Cleric of colocolo are just as often druids as they are clerics.  In keeping with their god, they defend their homes, and their temples (which sometimes pass for fortresses).  Those that invade and fail, if not killed or petrified, are cursed as a warning to others who would try the same.  Warning their opponents are common, and statues and great stoneworks are prized.  Of course, some of those statues may have once been invaders...
